This review is only for the ice cream parlor as I did not have a chance to try the pizza. With that said the ice cream is awesome! They have something called birthday surprise. This is birthday cake ice cream on steroids. I think they have a total of 8 flavors. The ice cream is very smooth and tasty and worth stopping by. it is also very reasonably priced. #Yelp100

This restaurant is not handicap accessible. Drove out from Bettendorf and saw there was a big step at the front door. VERY difficult to get my mom in her transport chair into the restaurant. Had we been closer to home I would not have attempted this. The only other entrance was at the back and it was a long staircase. Isn't there a law about public restaurants being accessible?

I had never been here before and a group of friends and I came here to see the sites. They had eaten at the ones in Wisconsin and I had heard nothing but good reviews about the place. We went on a Saturday and it wasn't packed, which was nice. The service was awesome - very friendly and prompt. The place was clean and organized. We had the taco pizza and mac & cheese pizza. Both we AMAZING!!! Honestly, even just writing about it makes me want some! For sure would go back again. Also, if you have kids, they have mini arcade for them.

This was one of the better restaurants in Le Claire. The seating was quick and spacious. We ordered at the front and picked our seats. The staff was quick and polite. The food was good, although the selection was limited. If you're not in the mood for pizza or ice cream (as the name implies) you may have trouble finding something, this isn't that big a deal though. The food itself was good and well portioned, although can be a bit much depending on how hungry you are. For the price, this was a good deal and I would certainly recommend them to others and dine there again.

Went here on our way to the American Pickers joint. There weren't many options on the street and pizza sounded good enough. They had a taco pizza that is clearly their high-seller, but I wasn't sure if their "bean mixture" had lard in it and I don't dig animal fat in my beans. So... decided to forego and stick to a vegetarian "little joe" sized pizza for almost $6. It had green and black olives, onions, and... wait for it... sauerkraut! Yeah, I know! The husband had some pizza with Canadian bacon and sauerkraut as well. We left talking about how we plan to make our own taco pizza and sauerkraut pizzas at home this week. Minus the lard, of course. The major issue was that we were not full when we left. I guess "little joe" sizes aren't good for grown adults. Should've split a medium like we originally thought, but I didn't want to make the half/half sitch difficult on the place. Turns out they have experience considering there are like 30 locations in 6 states! Never heard of them as we're Chicagoans just traveling up here for a weekend of randomness in the Quad cities. The pizza was delicious. As I sat there in the booth, I saw a sign for free wifi. I hooked up my iPhone and visited their website (because I wanted to know if it was a chain) and saw that I could join their e-club. Joined and they sent me IMMEDIATELY an email that said I get $5 off my next large pizza (basically making it about $15, or the price of the mediums). Considering we paid $12+ for our two itty-bitty pizzas you'd see on a kid's menu, I'd prefer to spend only $3 more for a large using that coupon. Maybe we'll go back tomorrow. Hah. Coupon expires about 2 weeks after joining the e-club, FYI. Good. Tasty. Would return. Wouldn't order the "little joe" size again. Will attempt to make my own creative pizzas at home. :)

The pizza was good on my visit to this Happy Joe's on Monday while in the area (which is what I expected), but the service was poor. I was not pleased to have to get up all the time get a refill of my drink, and nobody came over to clear away plates during the buffet. Needless to say - nobody got a tip.

I went once because the said they have a ball pit for my son. I called about it and was told they do. I got there to find they dont. Then I got the pizza I found it to be tasty but very grease. Then my son and I went to play on the play ground and it was sticky and there was trash all over. The kids were running wild screaming and pushing. I was the only parent around. After all of this my husband and I went to play the arcade games to find kids and adults climbing on the games braking them. Not once did an employee come and stop them. After winning tickits it took 30 min for anyone to come cash them in I found that the employees do nothing.

The best Taco Pizza around. And, this is the best Happy Joes around. Located in historic Le Claire, Iowa with amazing views of the Mississippi river.

Stopped here twice during our stay in Le Claire. Once for ice cream in the afternoon, then returned in the evening for a great tasting pepperoni pizza. I would frequent this chain if they had one near me!
